So, for the best results, tell your CanAmerican Consultant what you have in every room and storage area, the attic, basement, garage and tool shed. Packing and Loading

Packing Movers

Poor packing is the most common cause of breakage during relocation. Transporting fragile, delicate items safely involves a lot more than simply placing them in boxes.
You get expert packing from CanAmerican. We use the right boxes for different items, the right packing materials to cushion and protect the contents, and the right packing methods to assure a safe trip. We make wooden crates for things like chandeliers, pool table slates granite tabletop and antiques.

When you trust your entire relocation to CanAmerican, you save time you probably can't spare, save worry you don't need, and save costs you didn't expect.

CanAmerican takes pride in taking care of your items. See how CanAmerican will handle the packing

Our services includes:

* Using protective coverings to protect your home and items
* Using floor runner to protect your carpet and hard wood flooring
* Using shoe cover to walk in the bedrooms
* Disassemble and reassembling beds dresser etc.
* Preparing a detailed inventory of items to be moved
* Labeling each box and piece of furniture with coded stickers to account for each and every one
* Loading your properly packed and inventoried items into the van
* Providing a Bill of Lading (a shipping contract) authorizing transport of your possessions
* Finally, safely delivering your belongings to your new home

If you are not be able to present at the time of loading, you'll need to arrange for a responsible person to act as your agent in signing both the bill of lading and the inventory list.

Inventory/Paperwork

Your CanAmerican Operators will prepare a detailed Inventory & Condition Report of the items you are moving. In addition to tagging every individual carton or piece of furniture with numbered and color-coded labels, the Operator will record each item and a description of any existing damage on the inventory form. You should accompany the Operator as they prepare the inventory, pointing out any special concerns or handling considerations along the way.

You'll be asked to sign the inventory, as your acknowledgment that the pieces indicated were loaded and as verification of their condition prior to moving. Then, the driver will sign the form as well and present you with a copy. Keep this inventory with you for use at your new home.

The Operator also will ask you to sign a bill of lading. This is the contract by which you authorize the van line to transport your possessions and agree to pay for those moving services. The bill of lading serves to confirm the moving services performed, pickup and delivery schedules, and the valuation and protection plan that you've selected.

Delivery of Your Possessions

Long Distance Movers

It's extremely important for you to contact your Consultant as soon as you arrive in your new hometown so that final moving arrangements can be made. The CanAmerican Operator will contact you a minimum of 24 hours prior to the expected arrival time to confirm delivery arrangements.

When your shipment arrives, you can help expedite the unloading process by having a room-by-room floor plan in mind. Let the CanAmerican Operator and movers know where you want things placed as they're unloaded and brought into your home.

The CanAmerican Operators will reassemble any items they disassembled at origin. You should check items off the Customer list as they're brought in, noting their condition. If an item appears to have been damaged while moving or is missing, make a note on the inventory including the driver's copies and notify your move Consultant.

Payment

Unless approved billing or credit arrangements made through our office in advance, the CanAmerican Operator is required by law to collect payment for your household move before your shipment can be unloaded. If your shipment is placed in storage, charges up to that point are due at that time. Payment must be made in cash or by certified or cashier's check, travelers' checks, or money order payable to CanAmerican Van Lines. We also accept credit cards. Personal and company checks cannot be accepted. A copy of the bill of lading signed by the driver will be your receipt.

Unpacking

Canada Moving

If you have requested and paid for unpacking with your moving services, your CanAmerican Operators will arrange to unpack cartons at the time of delivery and will remove used packing materials. Should you choose to unpack your cartons yourself, you'll be responsible for disposing of empty cartons and used materials.
